EVENT DESCRIPTION

It Is a tradition at Godfrey Okoye University to begin every academic year with a spiritual retreat, Curriculum workshop, common noon prayers and a commencement Mass for Staff and students.

These four well-articulated programmes express the religious, cultural and epistemological dialogues of the university.

The Curriculum workshop for the 2022/23 academic year dubbed “entrepreneurial Curriculum workshop for academic Staff” is the first of its kind both in Godfrey Okoye University and in any Nigerian University.

During the one-day workshop, the Vice Chancellor Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, foresightedly, declared the 2022/23 academic session as an entrepreneurial Curriculum year. He challenged the academics of the university to show the entrepreneurial side of courses and programmes in their course outline for the new academic session.

The workshop was facilitated by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DOE) and the overall goal is to diffuse entrepreneurial ideas and concepts across all academic programmes and departments in the university to turn our students from job seekers to job creators.

With the success of this workshop, every lecturer in the university and the institute has now been trained to develop course outlines and lecture notes that would facilitate an entrepreneurial mindset, problem-solving skills, opportunity identification and job creation for our students.

The days of paper qualification are over.

We are preparing students to face their studies and business!
