DOE Commences STEP-S Training
The Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DOE) at Godfrey Okoye University Enugu is implementing the Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion -Sustainability (STEP-S).
STEP-S is an entrepreneurship training built on entrepreneurship success factors and rooted in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that empowers young adults with the skills, knowledge and confidence to pursue a career in sustainable entrepreneurship.
This year 2024, the Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DOE) GOUNI will be training student teachers from the faculty of education and the Institute of Ecumenical Education for 11 weeks.
The faculty students will learn entrepreneurship action principles that will enable them to start and run sustainable businesses that address social and ecological problems in addition to creating a means of livelihood for them.
In the course of the training, the DOE will provide 100 USD as startup capital for each student group in addition to hands-on training for their success. Our goal at the Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DOE) at Godfrey Okoye University Enugu is to turn students from job seekers to job creators.
The STEP-S project is a partnership project with Leuphana University Germany, Mount Kenya University Kenya, University of Venda South Africa and Godfrey Okoye University Enugu Nigeria and the project is being funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The STEP-S training for this year 2024 starts in October and ends in December 2024, the student teachers are expected to participate actively in the training to be equipped with the necessary training benefits in mastering how to start a sustainable business.
