The Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DoE) is delighted to announce the upcoming GOUNI Town & Gown III, a premier event dedicated to fostering innovation, connecting academia with industry, and celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of our students.
Scheduled for Thursday, December 4, 2025, this event will transform Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, into a vibrant hub of commercial activity and startup excitement from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
What to Expect at Town & Gown III
This year’s event is designed to be highly interactive and competitive, featuring three major highlights:
- Trade Fair: A dynamic showcase where our 140 student business groups (from the STEP-S program) and other campus entrepreneurs will market and sell their innovative products and services to the public. This is a critical opportunity for students to gain real-world sales experience and attract customers.
- Faculty Pitch Challenge: A fierce competition where student groups will pitch their sustainable business models to a panel of expert judges and potential investors. Prizes and awards will be given to the most viable and scalable concepts.
- Networking: An essential opportunity for investors, industry leaders, government officials (the “Gown”), and the local business community (the “Town”) to engage directly with the university’s cutting-edge entrepreneurial talent.
Leadership and Vision
The event will be hosted by Mr. Christopher Chidiebere Uwakwe, Director of Entrepreneurship, and driven by the vision of our Chief Host, the Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, the Entrepreneurial Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University. Their commitment ensures that entrepreneurship remains central to the university’s mission.
Director Uwakwe states: “Town & Gown III is more than just an event; it’s our direct pipeline connecting classroom innovation to market reality. We invite the public, investors, and fellow institutions to witness the quality and depth of the businesses our students are building to solve real-world problems.”
