Godfrey Okoye University participated in its second international Train-the-Trainer (TTT) workshop on the Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion -Sustainability Project for the project year 2025.

The STEP-S TTT was hosted by Mount Kenya University (MKU) between March 23rd and 29th, 2025. The aim of the MKU TTT was to train and induct an additional 12 faculty members to facilitate the STEP-S training among the student teachers.

STEP-S project is a 4-year (2024-2027) collaborative project between Godfrey Okoye University (Nigeria), University of Venda (South Africa), Mount Kenya University (Kenya), and Leuphana University (Germany). The project is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The objective of the project is to promote entrepreneurship among undergraduate, postgraduate and secondary school students to bridge unemployment challenges through self-employment.

The project coordinators from Godfrey Okoye University and the University of Venda assembled at the esteemed Mount Kenya University for an impactful five-day Train-the-Trainer workshop. This event was a pivotal moment in their collaborative journey. Among the participants, Christopher Chidiebere Uwakwe, an accomplished Master Trainer from Nigeria, emerged as a leading figure in the project. Furthermore, twelve committed faculty members completed their training and received certification as STEP-S trainers. These newly certified trainers are now fully equipped to empower student teachers at Mount Kenya University, making a significant contribution to the future of education.
