The Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DoE) is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the 2026 STEP-S Train-the-Trainers Workshop. After a week of intensive, hands-on immersion into high-level mentorship strategies, we have officially certified 12 new facilitators who are now ready to drive the next wave of student innovation at Godfrey Okoye University.

A Rigorous Journey to Excellence

The certification ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Sergius Udeh, alongside our visiting Master Trainer, Dr. Anyway Mikiori. Professor Udeh reminded the cohort that these certificates are not mere formalities; they are proof of a challenging journey and a deep commitment to the DoE’s mission of bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world business sustainability.

We were privileged to host Dr. Anyway Mikiori, who traveled from South Africa to share his global expertise with our team. His insights into the STEP-S framework have further sharpened our ability to mentor students effectively

During the closing remarks, our Director, Mr. Christopher Uwakwe, extended his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mikiori, noting that the future of African economic resilience lies in our ability to lead and sustain initiatives like STEP-S from within.

“The success of the STEP-S initiative rests on Africans taking the lead in building a resilient and self-sustaining business environment.”Mr. Christopher Uwakwe, Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship

Gratitude and growth.

As a token of our appreciation for his dedication to GoUni’s vision, the Directorate and the workshop participants presented Dr. Mikiori with souvenirs to commemorate his contribution. His praise for GoUni’s hospitality and our proactive approach to entrepreneurship reinforces our standing as a center of excellence.

With these 12 facilitators now fully integrated into the DoE team, we are poised to accelerate our support for student-led ventures. This expansion ensures that every GoUni student has access to the mentorship, guidance, and practical tools needed to become a job creator in today’s competitive landscape.
